Kazakhstan Part II (OOTD's)

Hier sind meine Freundin Assel und ich vor dem Khan Shatyr, Astana's beliebtestes Shopping Centre. Dort gibt es ganz viele Europäische Läden wie Monsoon, Next oder New Yorker. Allerdings sind die Preise dort auch ganz schön gepfeffert und wir sind nur zum Schaufenster bummeln dort gewesen. Ich kaufe halt lieber auf dem örtlichen Basar ein ;)

Here you can see my friend Assel and me in front of the Khan Shatyr, Astana's most popular shopping centre. It has a lot of European shops like Monsoon, Next and New Yorker. As you can imagine, their prices are even higher than here (and I consider Monsoon already uite pricey!) and we've only been there to look around. I definitely prefer shopping at the local basar ;)

Weekly Finds: As Summer into Autumn slips Pt. I

Hallo meine Lieben,

da jetzt schon fast der Herbst vor der Tür steht, habe ich mal ein paar Seiten abgeklappert um euch mal zu zeigen was ich diesen Herbst gerne tragen würde! Das ein oder andere Teil werde ich mir auch noch besorgen, aber alles kann man sich dann doch nicht leisten... Na ja, vielleicht hilft es ja der einen oder anderen von euch weiter ;)

As autumn is on its way, I tried to show you a couple of things which I would like to wear this year. Obviously I can't afford buying everything, but some of you might find inspiration in these :)

Inspire Red Mottled 1/2 Sleeve Jumper / Style 369 Ring + High Waisted Blue Jeans / Evans Lederstiefeletten mit Flechtdetail, Rot

Vor allem diese Schuhe waren bei mir wie Liebe auf den ersten Blick! Wie schon so oft erwähnt ist es echt schwierig Schuhe zu finden die passen UND gut aussehen... Erst letztens in Kasachstan musste ich geschockt ein paar Converse in Größe 44(!!!) kaufen :(
Aber diese Kombi mit der hohen Jeans & dem Oversize Pulli werde ich bestimmt oft im Herbst tragen. Hoffentlich auch mit den Schuhen ;)

I fell for these shoes at first sight! And as I mentioned it so many times already, it's quite hard to find shoes which fit AND look nice... Just recently in Kazakhstan I was shocked when I bought a pair of Converse in UK10 (!!!) :(
But this I will wear this combination of high-waisted jeans and oversized jumper quite often this autumn. Hopefully together with these shoes ;)

George@ASDA Tunic / Inspire Red Bird Print Dress / Style 369 Dress / Inspire Burgundy Waterfall Jacket / Inspire Magenta Polka Dot Skinny Jeans

Was mir dieses Jahr im herbst besonders gefällt sind die vielen Rot (bzw. Burgunder) / Grün / Senfgelbtöne überall! Ich hab mich schon bei Primark (Berlin hat jetzt nämlich auch endlich einen!) mit ein paar T-shirts und einen Pulli aus der Männerabteilung besorgt - die Sachen für Frauen sind leider nicht sooo schön und sowieso nicht in meiner Größe.
Hier ist erstmal eine kleine Auswahl in Rot, vor allem die Hose in Polka Dot hat es mir angetan :)

What I like especially about this year's autumn/winter fashion are the vast amounts of beautiful red's, green's and mustard colours around! I already bought a couple of T-shirts and a jumper from Primark's men's section (yes, Berlin has a Primark now too!) - the women's clothes aren't that exciting and don't carry my size anyway.
Here's a little selection of red's, but I especially like the Polka Dot Jeans and I'm really tempted to buy them straight away :D

Naomi Shimada for Girl Guiding UK

Gestern hat die bezaubernde Naomi Shimada (ihr kennt sie bestimmt von Asos.com!) ein Video auf ihrem Blog gepostet, in dem sie für die Real Role Models Campagne von GirlGuiding UK interviewt wird.
Obwohl es mich immer sooo nervt, dass Asos mit (meiner Meinung nach) schlanken Models die Curve Linie präsentiert, ich liebe Naomi Shimada! Im Gegensatz zu vielen typischen Models die ich absolut langweilig finde, hat sie irgendwie was besonderes :)
Na ja, aber jetzt mal zu dem Video: sie erzählt darin was sie unter echten Vorbildern versteht und es lohnt sich die drei Minuten mal anzusehen - deswegen hier mal das Video:

The above video is an interview with the utterly beautiful Naomi Shimada about role models and how they affect young girls. Although I'm always annoyed with Asos using such a limited variety of models (esp. their body variety is... well, not satisfying to say the least) I absolutely LOVE Naomi :)

If you have three minutes to spare, this is definitely worth it! 

Kazakhstan Part I (OOTD's)

Hallo meine Lieben,
Erstmal tut es mir leid für meine lange Abwesenheit (mal wieder...), aber ich war für ein paar Wochen auf Familienbesuch in Kasachstan :)
Auch wenn es jetzt kein "richtiger" Urlaub war, hab ich mich super erholt - ich hatte endlich mal wieder Zeit zum Lesen und meine Mama und ich waren viel shoppen und am Fluss schwimmen! Mein Opa hat sich natürlich auch seeeehr gefreut uns wiederzusehen, vor allem bei mir war es jetzt schon zwei Jahre her, dass ich bei ihm war.
Da bestimmt die wenigsten von euch schon mal dort waren, wollte ich euch mal zeigen wie es denn mal in der Hauptstadt Astana aussieht und was ich im Urlaub so getragen habe. Da es relativ viele (zumindest für mich viele, haha) Fotos sind, kommt ein zweiter Post in ein paar Tagen. Viel Spaß damit :)

Sorry for my long absence (again...) but I've been on a family holiday to Kazakhstan for a couple of weeks :)
Even if it wasn't a "proper" holiday trip, I was able to relax a lot - I finally found some time to read and my mum and I did loads of shopping and swimming at the local river. My grandfather obviously was really happy to see us again, especially me who hasn't been there for two years.
As probably most of you haven't been to Kazakhstan (yet), I wanted to show you guys what it looked like in the capitol Astana and what I was wearing on vacation. There are loads of photos (at least for me they seem loads, lol), there will be a second post in a couple of days. Enjoy :)

Normalerweise teilt man Astana in linkes und rechtes Ufer. Am rechten Ufer befindet sich die "alte" Stadt und am rechten die neue (und unglaublich helle & futuristische) Stadt. Mein Opa lebt in der alten Stadt und ich persönlich bin froh darüber, weil die neue Stadt sehr steril und charakterlos ist.

Astana is usually divided into left and right bankside. The right bankside holds the "old" city and the left bankside the new (and awfully shiny & futuristic) city. My grandfather lives on the left bank, not far from the river and personally I am glad he doesn't live on the sterile right bank.
