Kazakhstan Part II (OOTD's)

Hier sind meine Freundin Assel und ich vor dem Khan Shatyr, Astana's beliebtestes Shopping Centre. Dort gibt es ganz viele Europäische Läden wie Monsoon, Next oder New Yorker. Allerdings sind die Preise dort auch ganz schön gepfeffert und wir sind nur zum Schaufenster bummeln dort gewesen. Ich kaufe halt lieber auf dem örtlichen Basar ein ;)

Here you can see my friend Assel and me in front of the Khan Shatyr, Astana's most popular shopping centre. It has a lot of European shops like Monsoon, Next and New Yorker. As you can imagine, their prices are even higher than here (and I consider Monsoon already uite pricey!) and we've only been there to look around. I definitely prefer shopping at the local basar ;)

Gestern hat die bezaubernde Naomi Shimada (ihr kennt sie bestimmt von Asos.com!) ein Video auf ihrem Blog gepostet, in dem sie für die Real Role Models Campagne von GirlGuiding UK interviewt wird.
Obwohl es mich immer sooo nervt, dass Asos mit (meiner Meinung nach) schlanken Models die Curve Linie präsentiert, ich liebe Naomi Shimada! Im Gegensatz zu vielen typischen Models die ich absolut langweilig finde, hat sie irgendwie was besonderes :)
Na ja, aber jetzt mal zu dem Video: sie erzählt darin was sie unter echten Vorbildern versteht und es lohnt sich die drei Minuten mal anzusehen - deswegen hier mal das Video:

The above video is an interview with the utterly beautiful Naomi Shimada about role models and how they affect young girls. Although I'm always annoyed with Asos using such a limited variety of models (esp. their body variety is... well, not satisfying to say the least) I absolutely LOVE Naomi :)

If you have three minutes to spare, this is definitely worth it!

vor genau 20 Tagen hatte ich Geburtstag und hab mich dann natürlich, auch wenn es nur für die Uni war, schick gemacht :)

Das Kleid habe ich schon im April bei Humana am Alexanderplatz gekauft, wegen dem blöden Wetter konnte ich es allerdings jetzt erst anziehen.
Falls ihr mal in Berlin seid bzw. hier wohnt, müsst ihr dort mal vorbeischauen! Es gibt nur eine kleine Sektion mit Kleidung in Übergröße (die übrigens nicht mal teuer ist) aber der hintere Raum ist nach Jahrzehnten sortiert und es lohnt sich, sich da mal durchzuwühlen.

Das Foto ist übrigens im Foyer der Humboldt-Uni entstanden :)

Although this picture is already 20 days old, I still wanted to share it with you, because I absolutely love this dress! It was taken in the entry hall of the Humboldt-Universität, where I had to spend the whole day despite  it's being my birthday ;(


Anyway, I found this dress in the Humana (a charity shop) at Alexanderplatz here in Berlin, and if you ever visit Berlin you should give it a go! They have a small and quite cheap plussize section but the truely amazing thing is the back room, which sorts clothes by decades. It's definately worth going through all of the racks, most of the plussize items are still very cheap compared to the usual overprized "vintage" stuff.

Weekly Finds: Summer Holiday

Zugegeben, ich aben momentan überhaupt kein Geld zum shoppen. Da ich aber schon in drei Wochen nach Kasachstan fliege, brauche ich noch unbedingt sommer- und hitzebeständige Kleidung. Ich hab mal ein paar Sachen zusammengestellt und wollte euch auch dran teilhaben lassen :)

Weekly Finds: How to dress for the 1st date!

Hallo ihr Lieben,
da ich ja jetzt unterwegs bin, aber am Montag so viel Zeit hatte, habe ich direkt mal einen zweiten Post gemacht und ihn für heute gespeichert :)
Okay, Valentinstag ist jetzt auch schon wieder vorbei, aber ich muss zu meiner Entschuldigung sagen, dass ich erst am Montag wieder daran erinnert wurde, dass der gestern war! Auch wenn ich jetzt kein Date habe/hatte (ich war ja unterwegs nach Köln), habe ich die ganzen Posts zu möglichen Outfits gesehen und war hin und weg. Und warum sollte man sich so eine Mühe nur am Valentinstag geben? Hier sind drei mögliche Outfits, die ich alle drei tragen würde - wenn ich denn ein Date hätte und das Geld extra neue Klamotten zu kaufen, haha.

OOTD: Subterranean Homesick Blues.

Hallo ihr Lieben!

Ich hoffe es geht eucht gut :) Leider konnte ich die ganze letzte Woche nix schreiben, weil eine Freundin spontan zu Besuch gekommen ist und wir jeden Tag unterwegs waren - meistens um die Wohnung einer anderen Freundin zu renovieren - und waren abends dementsprechend fertig. Oben seht ihr Valentins-Cupcakes, die ich schon Mitte Januar gebacken habe, und heute erst die Bilder wiedergefunden habe, haha.
Zum Glück hatten wir Zeit wenigstens das OOTD von letztem Dientag zu fotografieren - das Kleid trage ich im Moment echt gerne!

Bitte beachtet mein chaotisches Zimmer nicht... Ich habe überhaupt kein Händchen für's Einrichten - es sieht immer irgendwie nach Sovjetkitsch meets Oma meets Ikea aus, haha. 

Also das Kleid habe ich im Sale schon im Januar gekauft, und war erst etwas unsicher wegen der Farbe. Es ist halt schon ein helles Orange - zumindest für mich sehr hell! Aber ich mochte die Schleife in der Taille und den Schnitt, und nach mehrmals tragen gefällt mir sogar die Farbe ganz gut! 

Weil der Stoff etwas dicker ist, drückt das Kleid nirgendwo ein und ist echt schön warm. Ich weiß zwar nicht, ob ich es im Frühling anziehen würde (es sieht irgendwie mehr nach Herbst/Winter aus) aber da der Winter ja jetzt gerade erst anfängt, kann es noch öfter ausgeführt werden! 

So, morgen werde ich erst nach Köln fahren um am Mittwoch The Maccabees im Gebäude 9 zu sehen - falls wir noch Tickets bekommen :( - und danach bis Sonntag zu meinem Papa nach Bielefeld. Wenn ich in einer Woche wieder da bin, werde ich aber ganz bestimmt wieder öfter schreiben!

Hi everybody!

I'm very sorry for not posting sooner, but a friend came over spontaneously and stayed until yesterday. But as you can see, I forced her to take pictures for an OOTD last Tuesday :)

I'm wearing an Asos dress I got during the sale in january, and I love it to bits now, which was different to when I got it. You see, it's a very bright orange - not my colour usually -  but I absolutely fell in love with the bow detail and the fit of this dress. Especially as it's got a very thick fabric it doesn't squeeze any of my fat rolls anywhere I don't want them to be, haha. And - although I don't think of this to be a 'must' for something I like - it's very flattering. I really feel confident and pretty wearing it :)

Anyway, I will be away from tomorrow until next Monday, but I promise to update this blog more regularly when I'm back!

OOTD: Dancing With Myself

Dieses OOTD ist schon kurz vor Weihnachten entstanden, aber ich hatte bis heute leider keine Zeit die Fotos zu bearbeiten...
Also ich liebe dieses Kleid und trage es ganz schön oft! Ihr könnt es momentan noch im Sale für 34,24€ ergattern - ich kann es euch nur wärmstens empfehlen, auch wenn es nur noch in blau erhältlich ist! Der Stoff ist echt schön angenehm auf der Haut, nur etwas durchsichtig und ich trage auch immer noch ein Tanktop o.ä drunter. Leider ist es auch vieeeel länger als auf dem Foto bei Asos, auch mit meinen 1,77m. Aber da ich diese Midi-Länge ganz gerne mag, habe ich es trotzdem behalten.
A propos Asos, ich hatte in letzter Zeit nur Pech. Von den gefühl 30.000 bestellten Sachen habe ich im Endeffekt drei behalten: dieses und ein anderes Kleid und einen goldenen Gürtel.Irgendwie passen die Sachen nie wie sie sollen - entweder viel zu klein oder viel zu groß. Auch wenn ich im Moment zwischen zwei Größen (52/54) bin, und immer eine 54 bestelle passen die Sachen einfach nicht.

This OOTD was shot before Christmas already, but I unfortunately didn't have the time to edit the pictures up to today...
Anyway I LOVE this dress and wear it quite a lot as it's keeping me warm and chic at the same time. You can still by it at Asos' Sale for 34,24€, unfortunately it's only left in blue but if you like this colour you definately should get it! The farbric is very soft and it feels nice on, although it's a bit see-through which means wearing a tank top underneath (well, at least for me, haha).
Also on the negative side is the lenght of this dress -  it's a looooot longer than on the Asos page, even with my height at 1,77m. But as I love this Midi trend, I kept it anyways.
Speaking of Asos - I was very unlucky with most of the items I ordered recently. Most of them have a very poor fit and although I'm between a size 24/26 at the moment, some of the 26 items are far to big whereas others I can't even get on. I wish for more consistent sizing please!

Hier mal ein paar spaßige Bilder mit einer Bird's Eye Lense... Hach, ich bin immer so neidisch auf meine Freundin (unten). Sie hat sooo eine tolle Kamera! Leider lohnt sich so ein Ding bei mir nicht, aber ich sollte sie öfter mal für Fotos ausnutzen, haha.

I added two "fun pictures", shot with a Bird's Eye lense. I'm very jealous of my friend's (it's her on the picture above) fancy camera. Unfortunately I don't think it would be worthy to get one myself as I probably wouldn't take more photos anyway. But I should definately take advantage of her camera her more often to take pictures.

Anna Scholz for Simply Be - Feather Jacket 199€

Ist es falsch eine Jacke für fast 200€ zu kaufen? Es war wie Liebe auf den ersten Blick! Sollte ich in nächster Zeit Geld gewinnen, werde ich sie mir kaufen. Und ansonsten hoffen, dass sie irgendwann im Ausverkauf ist :)

Is it wrong wanting to buy this jacket for nearly 200€? It was like love at first sight! Should I win money in the near future, I'm definitely going to buy it. Otherwise I'll just wait until it's (hopefully) going to be on sale :)
